Annual Furball Gala 2017

We are delighted to announce that the Cayman Islands Humane Society will be hosting a Hollywood themed Fur Ball gala on Saturday 8th April 2017, at the Marriott Beach Resort ballroom from 6:00pm-12:00am. This event promises to be a glamorous Hollywood night. We encourage you to dress like a famous Hollywood celebrity, your favorite movie character or for a night in Tinsel town.  Prizes will be awarded for best costume, volunteer of the year, fundraiser of the year and animal hero of the year. We are excited to announce that the evening will be hosted by Joe Avary of Cayman 27 and music will be provided by DJ Flex so that you can dance the night away.  Tickets are CI$150 and a table is CI$1,500.  Tickets include a delicious three-course steak meal served with wine and a complimentary welcome drink.  Welcome drinks reception starts at 6:00pm.  Throughout the night there will be a silent auction, raffles and a live auction.

This is the main fundraiser of the year for the Humane Society.  A small portion of the proceeds will go towards a reserve fund for a new shelter.  The remaining funds will be allocated towards the ongoing care and wellbeing of the animals at the shelter.  Respectfully, we ask you give generously as your generosity will have a tremendous impact on the lives of the animals at the shelter.  Our charity relies solely on donations from the public and our fundraisers.

The Humane Society runs the only animal shelter on the islands. Every year we rescue, rehabilitate and find homes for hundreds of cats and dogs. Last year we saved more than 450. Two thirds of these went to loving homes in the community and the balance went to families or No-Kill rescues in the USA. Without the Shelter, there would be no place of refuge for abandoned and unwanted pets. But it costs us CI$600,000 every year to run the Shelter and we need your support for this important event on our fundraising calendar.

We are offering various incentives in accordance with you choice of sponsorship level. Please see the attached sponsorship package.

Please join us in celebrating and promoting the work of the shelter. With your support, we can ensure that the shelter will be around for another 40 years.

Help urgently need for 4 sweet Scottish brothers plus Jett

Please help save 5 of the 17 senior dogs which were surrendered to the Shelter several months ago when an elderly resident had to leave island suddenly for medical treatment.

We have no room at the Shelter for these boys and desperately need homes for them to save them from being put to sleep.

All sweethearts are completely crate trained, good with cats and good with people, if a little shy from a lack of socialisation.

Whilst the dogs have some hair loss from flea dermatitis, a good diet, medicated shampoos and lots of TLC will clear that up fast.

The house they are currently living in needs to be vacated by month end, do you have it in your heart to step up and help by providing either a temporary or permanent home…….?

If you are able to help, please contact Lesley on 916 3511 or lesley@candw.ky or the Shelter directly at 949 1416 or info@caymanislandshumanesociety.com

Rescue Partner “Appleby”

Rescue Partner “Appleby”

Friday the 13th June was a very lucky day for us! We received a cheque from the wonderful staff at Appleby who are pictured above with staff member Letty and precious little Mimi! Their generous donation is going to help us out with the large veterinary costs that we have to meet each month. As a charity that rescues animals on a daily basis, we could not continue to do this without the support of the community and ‘rescue partners’ such as Appleby! On behalf of Mimi and all her shelter buddies thank you so much!
